Future Rivers Presents: A Conversation with Eddy Harris

On Thursday, October 14, UW Future Rivers, EarthLab and the College of the Environment presented a special film screening of “River to the Heart” (105m), followed by a conversation with the director, Eddy Harris, author of “Mississippi Solo.”

The conversation was facilitated by Mr. Chukundi Salisbury, Sustainability and Environmental Engagement Manager at the City of Seattle, founder of the Youth Green Corps, and creator of the children’s book series “The Adventures of Lil Bigfella.”

Themes of the discussion included cultural connections to water and nature, the importance of diverse voices and values in environmental work, and what it means to push our limits of physical and emotional abilities, while creating space for reflection and healing.
