Heidi Gough

  • Associate Professor, School of Environmental and Forest Sciences

Dr. Gough’s research focuses on bringing research-based solutions to remote locations and communities. She specializes in treatment of wastewater and impaired water using biological processes, by understanding the linkage between applied microbial ecology and environmental engineering. Her current and recent projects have included characterization of microbes capable of degrading pharmaceutical contaminants in wastewater, anaerobic microbiology of digestion for improved methane recovery, and wastewater recovery for lignocellulosic biomass production.
