My research is at the intersection of river hydrology, sediment dynamics, watershed management, and capacity building. I use satellite remote sensing and computational modeling to better understand watershed sediment dynamics as well as how to improve the management of infrastructure such as dams. By directly collaborating with stakeholders, I work on bridging the disconnect that often exists between academic research and societal application. My PhD research has been conducted in the Elwha River Basin of Washington, the Mekong River Basin of Southeast Asia, and the Ganges-Brahmaptura-Meghna River Basin of Bangladesh.
