My curiosity and passion lie in exploring carbon transport into freshwater systems. For my Masters, I am studying the effects of landscape characteristics on the seasonal export of freshwater dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in the Olympic Experimental State Forest. I hope my findings will contribute to the adaptive management goals of the Washington Department of Natural Resources (WaDNR) by linking management techniques to carbon fluxes and informing the carbon budget.
