The Encyclopedia of Puget Sound is a comprehensive guide to science, environmental threats, and conservation initiatives in the Salish Sea, which extends from the southern reaches of Puget Sound to northern British Columbia. The Encyclopedia’s articles and stories – covering everything from climate change and invasive species to algae blooms and orca migration – demonstrate why the Salish Sea is an estuary of international importance. This website is a product of the University of Washington Puget Sound Institute and receives major support from the Environmental Protection Agency’s National Estuary Program.
