Water & Environment Student Talks (WEST) Conference
We are pleased to announce the 5th annual Water and Environment Student Talks (WEST), a water conference for students and young professionals in the Pacific Northwest hosted by the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. WEST CASCADES: Water in Cycles will stimulate discussions on the various stages that water goes through as we use it and will include topics like water reclamation and resource recovery from water and wastewater.
GOALS AND BENEFITS
The goals of the conference are to strengthen connections between students and young professionals working in the broad field of Environmental Engineering and to create opportunities for participants to gain recognition for their research and project work. This affordable conference will be a platform for communicating ideas, sharing perspectives on water and environment related topics, and exposing participants to regional and global issues.
Undergraduate and graduate students, as well as young professionals, are encouraged to share their research and projects by submitting a poster presentation that deals with water and environment related issues. The poster presentations can have one of two formats: PechaKucha (20 slides, 20 seconds each) or long (15 minutes). The presentations will be judged and the winner will get a cash prize of several hundred dollars.
The abstracts may be submitted online here.
