The Geology Department is opening this course to students in Puerto Rico and the remainder of the United States. GEOL 4015 is a 3 credit course and fulfills the common Geology requirement for many undergraduate Engineering degrees within Puerto Rico and in the remainder of the United States. The class will be offered in English and Spanish by bilingual faculty. Students from the United States do not need a passport to attend.

Course Catalog Description: General principles of geology, with special emphasis on those aspects pertaining to engineering problems; study of common minerals and rocks; structural geology and geomorphology.

The course will include numerous field trips around the natural laboratory that is Puerto Rico to illustrate concepts discussed in class. Numerous sites affected by Hurricane María will be used as teaching examples.
