2018 FWI, AWRA, AWWA-WEF Winter Mixer

You are invited to the 2018 Winter Mixer hosted by the American Water Resources Association (AWRA) – UW Student Chapter. This is the first ever mixer between the AWRA-UW, Freshwater Initiative (FWI), American Water Works Association-Water Environment Foundation (AWWA-WEF), and Washington State AWRA.

The event will be hosted in the Great Room of the UW Waterfront Activities Center on Monday, January 29th, 5:30pm- 8:30pm. Food and drink will be provided.

5:30 PM: Guest arrival and social time.
6:00 PM: Freshwater Initiative Introduction. We will introduce the activities our FWI steering committee has been planning, including WaterHackWeek, TED Talks, Interdisciplinary-Themed-Topic Panel Events, Writing Circles, Freshwater Newsletters, and a new FWI website.
6:30 PM: Featured talk entitled “Building Better Bridges between Climate Research and Water Management” by Dr. Julie Vano from the National Center for Atmospheric Research (and a UW alumna!)
7:30 PM: More social time. The FWI Steering Committee will be available to sign you up for any FWI activities you’re interested in, personally answer any questions you have about FWI, and would also love to hear any of your ideas/feedback/etc.
